Daniel Ray Messick, 68, of Fillmore, MO passed away at his home on Monday, October 7th, 2024.  He was born June 29th, 1956 to Forrest & Alma (Hughes) Messick.

Danny enjoyed the great outdoors, he always found the calm and stillness of nature soothing. When he was outdoors he did many things, cutting wood, starting fires, and sowing his gardens. Danny loved a fresh homegrown tomato. Danny was a man who liked to work with his hands, and fix things himself. He worked on a great many things, be it his cars, his home or his bikes. He had an appreciation for vehicles, most prominently motor-cycles and dirt bikes. He also really liked firearms, both collecting and shooting. He valued fairness, and he valued honesty. Although at times he did not show it, what he treasured and loved most was his family.

Survivors include his sons, Sam Joseph Messick of Fillmore and Dylan Ray Messick of St. Joseph; grandson, Alexander Reyes Messick; brothers, Dave Messick of Oregon, Dale Messick of Fillmore, and Donnie Messick of Fillmore.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karen Adams.

Memorial Graveside will be held at Fillmore Cemetery on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 at 10:00am. Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
