September 14, 1942 - February 26, 2015
Charles F. Harrison, age 72, was born on Sept. 14, 1942 and passed away on Feb. 26, 2015 after a long battle with heart problems. The son of Frank and Edith Harrison of Cosby, MO. He was a graduate of Savannah High School, class of 1960. On May 5, 1962, he married the love of his life, Donna Hilsenbeck. She always referred to him as "My Charlie". They enjoyed 52 ½ years together. She survives at their Helena home. If asked what is profession was, he always answered "farming" and worked a side job for 38 ½ years at Wire Rope Corporation, retiring from there in 2002.
His proudest achievements was his 3 children. Son, Cary and Julie of Charlotte, NC, daughter Angela and Eric Dowdy of Ft. Collins, CO, and son Toby of Oklahoma City, OK. Next on that proud list was his 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Amber, and Megan Harrison, Matthew, Nathan, and Jacob Dowdy, and Cole and Dane Harrison.
Other survivors include three sisters; Mary Ayala, Francis Hahn, and Shirley Harrison, three brothers; Gerald, Michael, and Randy Harrison, three sister-in-laws; Linda and Byron Howard, Marilyn and Larry Ellis, and Terry Proffit, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Charlie.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 1st form 2-4 PM at Breit & Hawkins funeral home in Savannah, MO. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2nd at 10:00 AM at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow at Helena Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations be made to the Helena Community Center.
