Carolyn Elaine Vaughn, 62, of Savannah, MO passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at her home in Savannah. She was born on September 28, 1954 in St. Joseph, MO to Rodney & Vivian (Edwards) Lawrence. She married Ed Vaughn in St. Joseph on April 21, 1978 and he survives of the home.
Carolyn lived for the Lord. Her grandkids and family meant everything to Carolyn. She enjoyed camping, reading, and spending time with her family. She played fast pitch softball and had the nickname "Slugger" for the traveling fast pitch softball team, Wyeth Ball Babes.
Survivors include her husband, mother, three sons, Bryan Vaughn of Kansas City, MO, Ryan (Annette) Vaughn of Kansas City, MO, and RJ Vaughn of Savannah; one daughter, Jennifer (Daniel) Briner of Savannah; two brothers, Jeff (Idonna) Lawrence of Springfield, MO, and Mike Lawrence and Tammy Poirier of Savannah, MO; four sisters, Brenda (Jerry) Joe of Maryville, MO, Vickie (Gary) Whitsell of Clarksdale, MO, Pam (Trent) Bush of DeKalb, MO, and Christy (Jim) Hendrix of Savannah, MO; eleven grandchildren, Blayde, Malayna, Brayden, Brylee, Brody, Brinley, Myles, Brecken, Maddox, Merritt, and Graysan. She was preceded in death by her father, Rodney L. Lawrence, brother, Rodney C. Lawrence and Step-daughter, Lisa Vaughn-Clark.
Celebration of Life will be 10:00AM Saturday, February 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Savannah, MO. Visitation and family receiving hours will be Friday, February 17, 2017 from 5:00PM - 8:00PM at First Baptist Church in Savannah, MO. Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery in Savannah, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to The Noyes Home in St. Joseph. Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
