Carla Marie Martens, 59, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. She was born December 27, 1957 in Topeka, KS to Ray Gene & Jeanie (Deardorff) Martens.
Carla was a hard-working, honest woman who's love for her family had no boundaries. She was a wonderful mother, friend, and grandma. No matter how hard things seemed, she never complained.
She is survived by her life partner, Philip L. DeRoin of the home; one son, James (Mary) Martens of Stewartsville, MO; one daughter, Rachel (Brad) Edwards of Elwood, KS; two sisters, Kandee Davidson of St. Joseph, and Sheila Warbritton of Topeka, KS; 10 grandchildren, Carlee, Keaton, Macy, Eli, Trevyn, Amiya, Austin, Riley, Kyson, Kreedon, and one great-grandchild.
Memorial Celebration of Life Will be 7:00PM Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Family receiving hours will be Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 6:00PM to 7:00PM at the Funeral Home. Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MO is overseeing local arrangements.
