1934-2016
Carl Eugene Slaybaugh 82, Savannah, MO passed away, July 19, 2016 at his home in Savannah. He was born May 27, 1934 in McFall, MO to Forest & Susie "Pearl" (Thompson) Slaybaugh. He married Betty June Mitchell in King City, MO on September 13, 1959 and she survives of the home.
Carl loved spending time with his family, going to the farm, and he never knew a stranger. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Carl is survived by his wife, two daughters, Karla (William) Steele, and Angie Walker both of Rosendale, MO; five grandchildren, Heather (Gary) Cook, Garrett Walker, Kelsey Steele, Katelynn Steele, and Tyler Steele; three great grandchildren, Lillie Steele, Faith & Laine Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Dudley, Bill and Jerry, and one sister, June.
Carl served as Private 1st Class in the US Army. Following his retirement from St. Joseph Light and Power, he worked for Andrew County Weed Control.
A Celebration of Life will be 10:00am Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, MO. Visitation and family receiving hours will be 5:00-8:00pm Friday, July 22, 2016 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Interment will follow in King City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Andrew County Senior Center.
