Bonnie IvaDell Mires, 86, of St. Joseph went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 19, 2017.
Bonnie married the love of her life, Fred Mires on August 22, 1946 and enjoyed 67 years together before Fred's passing in 2013. She was born in Burlington Junction, MO on August 15, 1930 to Horace Franklin "Jack" & Fern Alfreda (Walker) Pitts.
Bonnie worked for many years in the St. Joseph School District at Pershing and Benton schools in the cafeteria.
Bonnie loved her family, flower gardening, and was a great cook.
She is survived by her children, Connie Lockhart, Peggy Marks, Dennis and Julie Mires, who she loved like a daughter, and Michael Mires (Brenda); 13 grandchildren, Larena Lockhart Vaughn (Tim), Heather Berry (Mike), Amy Marks, Justin Marks, Alexia Tomlinson (Jason), Jason Mires (Heather), Anbur Kovac (Michael), Annie Mires, Katie Adams (Matt), Chris Woods, Amber Punzo, Tisha Woods, Eric Fleischman (Leila); 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd (Donna) Pitts of Burlington Junction, MO; three sisters, Darlene Manini of Illinois, Marilyn Sportsman of Graham, MO, and Erma (Richard) Lockhart of Tarkio, MO.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Allena Lockhart, and Nathan Mires; one son-in-law she loved as a son, Larry Lockhart; two brothers, Jack Pitts, and Ronnie Dale Pitts; and three sisters, Helen Bibb, Jackeline Rogers, and Nona Jane Pitts.
Our hearts were broken when Jesus called her home.

Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Public visitation and family receiving hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Interment will be in Oak Church Cemetery.
