Bobby Rex Hontz, 81, Savannah, Mo passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home in Savannah.  He was born March 11, 1940 to Clifford and Ola (Collins) Hontz.  He married Marjorie Newlon in St. Joseph on January 18th, 1958 and she preceded him in death on April 17, 2019.  Bob and Marge had 3 children.

Bob was a Union Local painter, until he started and successfully ran his own business Bob Hontz Painting for over 20 years.  He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, and archery.  He was a member of the American Rimfire Association, and won many awards for shooting an archery. To know Bob, was to love Bob and he sure knew how to make you laugh.

Bob is survived by his children, Debbie Hontz of St. Joseph and Lorie Huff of Savannah; Grandchildren, Tyson (Romeo) Huff-Garza, and Channing Sipes; great-grandchildren, Quaid Sipes, Baylor Sipes, and Krew Huff-Garza; Aunt, Opal Mikes of Albany, MO. And so many loving family and friends.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, his son Steven Hontz, brother Harold Hontz, sister Kate Walters, and nephew J.B. Hawkins.

Celebration of life will be Wednesday January 5 ^th , 6:00pm at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, MO.  Memorial contributions can be made to Royal Family KIDS 927 Faraon St. Saint Joseph, MO 64501.
