Billie D (Planck) Lindsey, 84, Kansas City, MO, formerly of St. Joseph, MO passed from this life on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at North Care Hospice House. She was born in Gilman City, MO on October 27, 1931 to Beryl and Lida May (Ray) Planck.
Billie married Bill Lindsey on April 16, 1949 and he preceded her in death on October 13 2014. She was a member of Grace Church Kansas City, MO and formerly St. Paul Methodist Church St. Joseph, MO.
Billie was former co-owner of the former Stamey - Lindsey Funeral Home and also was a History Teacher at Lafayette High School. She enjoyed dancing, sewing making clothes and traveling everywhere for 20 years with her late husband Bill and spending their winters in Texas.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Jeremy Lindsey and daughter in law Diana Lindsey. Survivors; two sons, David (Stacy) Lindsey, Kansas City, MO, Richard Lindsey, Nixa, MO; half brother Wayne Planck, Corpus Christi, TX; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Family with public visitation 12 to 2 PM Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Gladden - Stamey Funeral Home, followed with a graveside service at Mount Auburn Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. Memorial donations are suggested to the Hospice House at 2800 Edward Dr. North Kansas City, MO 64116.
