Bertha A. McCall, 85, St. Joseph, passed away Saturday March 3, 2018 at her home in St. Joseph. She was born July 1, 1932 to Marion & Vera (Miller) Freek in Mountainair, NM. She married James C. McCall in New Kirk, OK on November 6, 1948 and he preceded her in death.
Bertha was strong on everything, strong on family, strong on church, and strong willed.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet (Larry) Calvert of St. Joseph; grandchildren Larry (Sharon) Calvert II and Aaron Calvert; great-grandchildren, Shannon Calvert and Brian Calvert; great-great-grandchildren, Eli Ellis and Housten Sutton; four step-great-grandchildren, Alex, Richard, Crystal, and Brandy Sproat; four great-great step grandchildren, Nicki, Caleb, Lexi, and Cameron and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, Raymond Freek and Larry Joe Freek; and one sister, Emma Landers.
A Celebration of Life will be 2:00pm, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Visitation and family receiving hours will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorial contributions can be made to Mosaic Hospice.
