Berna Deane M. Devers, 82, of St. Joseph, MO died on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, KS. She was born December 14, 1932 in Elwood, KS to Paul and Ethel May (Wagenblast) McCann.

Berna Deane was a traditional lady who enjoyed sending cards to acknowledge the special events of family and friends. She was a very giving person, contributing to many organizations with a special fondness towards the humane society. She held much pride in her 30 year career at Jerre Anne's Cafeteria, from which she retired at the age of 70. Her working years created many meaningful friendships. Reading, discovering her heritage, exploring history and watching classic 40's and 50's movies were some of her favorite past times.

Survivors include her three daughters, Jane Ann (Jeffrey) Roach and Lisa Gayle Vogel both of Mountain Home, AR, and Angela Marie (David) Ward of Highland, KS; one brother, William Lee McCann of Tacoma, WA; two sisters, Carol Jean Moore of Wichita, KS, and Lavonne McCauley of Austin, TX; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Margie Lou McCann, Laverne Angold, and sister-in-law Ina McCann.

Public visitation with the family will be Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MO. A service will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 at 10:00 AM, at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blakely Cemetery, Easton, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or Humane Society.
