May 29, 1935 - March 16, 2015
Barbara Blair Hayworth, 79, Rosendale, MO went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 29, 1935 to John W. Blair and Alice Elizabeth (Gilmore) Blair, the sixth of eleven children, in rural Rosendale, MO. She graduated from Fillmore High in 1953. After graduating high school she got married and held various jobs throughout her early years but the job that brought her the most joy was raising her daughter, and in later years delighting in her grandchildren.
After retiring from Savannah RIII School District in 2004 as custodian, she returned to working full time on her farm. Farm living was the only way of life for her. Through the years she raised cattle, hogs and sheep. Raising and caring for sheep was her passion. She always had a dog by her side. She enjoyed volunteering at the Andrew County Food Pantry since 2005, always faithful and dependable to show up, a loyal servant.
Her faith and love for God carried her through life's ups and downs and her faith was her strength during her five year battle with cancer. She was a member of the Savannah First Baptist Church where she looked forward to attending Sunday school.
Barb loved her family, and enjoyed spending anytime she could with them, whether it was talking on the telephone, being together at family gatherings, playing cards, treasuring time spent with her grandchildren, or watching her nieces and nephews play sports. She also enjoyed going to basketball games, following the North Andrew Cardinals. Her family will always remember her warm smile, hugs, the love she had for them and popcorn!
